Anushka Sharma's Heartfelt Post After Virat Kohli's Test Retirement Goes Viral (Source: Instagram)

Virat Kohli's wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma shared a heartfelt post days after the retirement of Virat Kohli from Test cricket. The post, initially shared by Instagram user Vidushak, was reposted by Anushka, where she highlighted what made Kohli succeed in arguably the hardest format of the game.
"Let it never end. That's why only those with a story to tell succeed in Test cricket. A story so long and deep that it doesn’t care for the pitch conditions – whether grass, dry, home, or away," the post read.

Decoding Anushka Sharma's Post

Anushka's words seem to reflect the determination required to succeed in test cricket. In white-ball cricket, success could come easy, but it requires tremendous hard work, temperament, and skills to thrive in Tests. The post suits well on Kohli who saw many highs and lows before bowing out as one of the greatest cricketers of all time.

Why Did Virat Kohli Retire?

Kohli was going through a lean run in Test cricket. In the recently concluded Test series against Australia, he scored just 190 runs in five Tests, including a century. It was not a one-off failure for Kohli. The batter scored just 1990 runs in 37 Test matches, including three centuries in the last five years, which was way below the standard he set for himself.
Kohli hasn't confirmed the reason behind his shock decision. After the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Kohli played a Ranji match for Delhi, which was a big indication that he was far from done in Test cricket; however, what made him change his decision is unclear. There are a few other reports floating in the media that BCCI told Kohli that his selection is not guaranteed in Team India due to poor form.
