The IPL 2025 was suspended for a week after tensions between India and Pakistan were at a peak following Operation Sindoor, where India struck nine terror bases inside Pakistan and PoK. However, the situation has now de-escalated following the announcement that both India and Pakistan has agreed to full ceasefire. Now, it might also have been revealed, as to when the mega tournament restarts with just 17 games remaining to play.

According to a report by The Times of India, the IPL 2025 is likely to resume soon, either on Thursday (May 15) or Friday (May 16). The BCCI are currently in a huddle to finalize the dates and venues of the remaining fixtures. The tournament is expected to be held all over India except in Dharamsala.

The biggest hurdle for the franchises is asking the foreign players to return, as many of them had already disbanded once the IPL 2025 was suspended. However, a source in the BCCI said that they were in a state of panic because of the possibility of international airports getting shut down.

"Yes the overseas players were panicking but it was more because of the airport shutdown and all. They patiently listened to the franchises and had full confidence but it was the fear of international airports getting shut which triggered a lot of panic," the source said.

The 58th match of the IPL 2025 between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was not completed in Dharamsala, as the match was abandoned midway owing to the unwanted Pakistan aggression that was happening at that time at the border areas. It was a day after this match that the tournament was suspended.

According to several reports, the PBKS vs DC match might be replayed again once the IPL 2025 resumes.
