Rob Gronkowski to host pickleball charity event this month

Rob Gronkowski, the four-time Super Bowl champion tight end, will hold a charity pickleball tournament in Massachusetts, later this month.
In order to support adult and pediatric cancer care and research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, the former New England Patriot and Tampa Bay Buccaneer star has teamed up with the Jimmy Fund and the Gronk Nation Youth Foundation to host the second-annual Pickleball for a Purpose tournament.
The opportunity to play pickleball with Gronk and friends during the event will be awarded to the teams or players that generate the most money for the charity.
Gronkowski has been playing pickleball for the past several years now and has previously taken part in PPA Tour celebrity events.
In the past, he has commended the sport for being accessible to individuals of all ages and abilities.
“That’s what makes it so great, is that it brings people together,” Gronkowski told the Boston Globe before last year's event.
The Bosse pickleball complex in Natick will host this year's Pickleball for a Purpose tournament on May 28.
