Amidst rising tensions post Pakistan's unprovoked aggression in the border areas, the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has officially been suspended. In an official statement, the BCCI confirmed that the IPL has been suspended amid the ongoing situation, for one week. However, the question arises whether the tournament can ideally start after just a week's time.

In the official statement, the BCCI have confirmed that a new schedule and a new set of venues will be announced after assessing the situation. However, if the current situation escalates in the coming days, then the tournament might not start anytime soon, certainly not by the end of the month.

If tensions between India and Pakistan subside in the following week, then one can expect that the IPL might happen in the last week. of May. There have been reports that foreign players are flying out of the country, and it remains to be seen whether the will be back if the tournament resumes in such a short span of time.

If it delays further, we might not expect the IPL 2025 to be postponed to June, as India will travel to England for a five-match Test series which begins on June 20. They will be in England till August 4, which means that the remainder of the IPL 2025 might be held in after that.

India are scheduled to travel to Bangladesh for a three-match ODI, and three-match T20I series. This will be followed by the Asia Cup 2025, which is likely to be held in September. However, a report in The Times of India stated that the Bangladesh tour might not happen due to certain anti-India comments by a former army personnel of the country.

The report also stated that the Asia Cup too is highly unlikely owing to the deteriorating India-Pakistan relations. Hence, the window between August and September might be the ideal time to host the remainder of the IPL 2025.
