The 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) has been called off at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamshala. It has been revealed that the game will not continue due to 'significant technical problems at the stadium,' by the broadcaster.

The game was stopped following a floodlight malfunction at the venue mid-way through the Punjab Kings (PBKS) innings after which the players left the field. More details on the situation are still awaited. "Due to a power outage in the area, one of the light towers at the HPCA stadium malfunctioned. BCCI regrets the inconvenience caused to in-stadium attendees," a statement from the BCCI said.

Talking about the match, the clash between PBKS and DC started an hour late due to rain. Shreyas Iyer won the toss and decided to bat first. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh continued their brilliant form with a 122-run opening partnership. The match was stopped after 10.1 overs with the hosts having 122 runs on the board.

Priyansh made a knock of 70 in just 34 balls before the match was stopped. Prabhsimran was unbeaten at the crease with a 28-ball 50. At the time of the stoppage, the youngster was dealing with a hamstring injury and undergoing treatment.

A victory in the match would have sealed PBKS qualification for the playoffs. News on whether this game will be rescheduled or the teams will share points is still not known yet.

PBKS and DC are in a tense competition for a playoff spot. The Punjab-based team were third in the table before the match started with 15 points, meanwhile the Capitals were fifth in the table with 13 points.

This was the last match of the 2025 IPL in Dharamshala, as the clash on May 11 between PBKS and MI has been shifted to Ahmedabad.
