India's star batter Jemimah Rodrigues smashed her second ODI century and then celebrated it with her famous guitar celebration. On Wednesday, May 7, at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, India's final round-robin encounter against South Africa in the tri-series saw Jemimah score her century in just 89 balls, spearheading the team's attack towards a big total.
Jemimah removed her helmet and blew a flying kiss in the direction of the dressing room after she reached her century. Then she rocked the celebration by holding her bat like a guitar. She performed the same celebration after reaching her first ODI hundred against Ireland in Rajkot earlier in January.
The Mumbai player, who is passionate about music and is known for being expressive both on and off the field, is thriving in this ODI World Cup year. With 15 boundaries and a six in her 101-ball 123 on Wednesday, Jemimah appeared to be playing at her best. After Harleen Deol, captain Harmanpreet Kaur, and Pratika Rawal all fell cheaply, she came in to bat with India in trouble.
At 18 for 2 and then 50 for 3, India was in serious trouble until Jemimah teamed up with Smriti Mandhana. Before Smriti was removed for a well-balanced 51 off 63 deliveries, the two spearheaded India's comeback with an 88-run partnership.
Jemimah maintained a rapid pace on the scoreboard. Deepti Sharma, who played the ideal finisher's role with an 84-ball 93, then joined her in a 122-run partnership. In the 43rd over, Masabata Klaas dismissed Jemimah, who appeared to have more. India scored 337 runs in their 50 overs, which is the fifth-highest total in women's one-day internationals, thanks to Deepti and Richa Ghosh (20 off 12).
Meanwhile, Jemimah became just the seventh Indian batter to reach the 100-run mark in women's ODI cricket.

India defeated South Africa and Sri Lanka, the hosts, in their opening two tri-series games. But in the second round of the league stage, Sri Lanka shocked them. In this pivotal tri-series match on Wednesday, Jemimah delivered when the team needed the most
