Rajasthan Royals (RR) are stepping out for their must-win clash against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Thursday (May 1) in the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur with a new kit as they are wearing a new all-pink jersey instead of their usual pink and blue apparel.
Royals are coming into the game on the back of a historic victory against the Gujarat Titans (GT) as they chased down a total of 210 with 25 balls to spare. 14-year-old star Vaibhav Suryavanshi took the cricketing world by storm by scoring the second-fastest century in the league's history
Why Are Rajasthan Royals Wearing An All-Pink Jersey?
The Royals are wearing a new kit to mark the annual 'Pink promise' day, in which the franchise are taking various initiatives to support women-led transformation in Rajasthan.
"The Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians clash is also the highly anticipated Pink Promise match in IPL 2025. The Royals’ Pink Promise is to continue supporting women-led transformation in Rajasthan. Last year, the ‘Pink Promise’ campaign, along with support from partners like Luminous, illuminated thousands of lives by bringing light to over 250 homes," said a statement on the RR's website.
To continue driving on-ground impact this year, the Royals will contribute ₹100 for every ticket purchased for the RR vs MI match toward women-led rural transformation in Rajasthan. Additionally, all proceeds from the sale of the special all-pink Royals jersey will go directly to the Royal Rajasthan Foundation (RRF) to support its social impact initiatives. Furthermore, for every six hit in the match by either team, Rajasthan Royals and RRF will commit to lighting up six homes in the Sambhar region with solar power, ensuring real-time impact with every boundary," the franchise added.
This is the second year in a row RR are marking the 'Pink promise day' and wearing the all-pink kit following a clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) last year, in which they won by six wickets with Jos Buttler scoring a century.
