Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) Shaik Rasheed faced the wrath of usually calm MS Dhoni after he gave away an extra run during Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH)155-run chase. The incident unfolded in the 8th over when Ishan Kishan drove a delivery for an easy single. Rasheed, fielding at extra cover, came charging in and threw at the stumps. The ball missed the target, and there was no backing, resulting in an extra run for SRH. MS Dhoni was clearly unpleased and asked Rasheed to use his brain.

Rasheed A Future Star

CSK has invested heavily in Rasheed, and he could be one of the pillars of CSK's batting next year. He was dismissed for a golden duck against the SRH, but showed enough promise in the previous matches. Overall, he has scored 46 runs in three games played for CSK so far. The franchise also gave Ayush Mhatre a shot in the XI against SRH, and he impressed with a thrilling 30 in 19 balls. Dewald Brevis also made his debut for CSK and played a 42-run innings in 25 balls. IPL 2025 might not have gone CSK's way, but they have got a few positives in Brevis, Rasheed, and Mhatre, who could be long term horses for the franchise.

CSK Suffer Another Defeat

Despite a crisp start, CSK batters could not post a challenging score and were bowled out for 154. The bowlers did well in the first half of the defence and reduced SRH to 54-3 in the 9th over, with spinners choking SRH batters for runs, however, 44 by Ishan Kishan and 32 by Kamindu Mendis helped SRH win the game by five wickets. The defeat has knocked CSK out of the playoffs race, while SRH's chances hang by a thread.
