Yashasvi Jaiswal turned things around after a slow start to IPL 2025. With scores of 75, 51, 74, and 49 in the last four innings, he has been the most consistent batter for the Rajasthan Royals (RR). Unfortunately, he hasn't got support from other batters, resulting in five straight losses for the RR.

Chasing 206 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Jaiswal got the innings off to a perfect start with a six off the first ball. During his 19-ball stay at the crease, he smashed seven fours and three sixes, and put RR in complete control of the game. When he departed for 49, RR were in a great position at 72-2 in the sixth over.

Meanwhile, Jaiswal fetched himself a stunning record in IPL after his first-ball six against the RCB. He became the first player in the world to hit a six off the first ball in an IPL innings on three occasions. Overall, eight batters have hit a six off the first ball in an IPL inning, but Jaiswal is the first to achieve the feat thrice.

RR Succumb To Defeat

Meanwhile, RR once again let an easy win slip out of their hand as they lost to RCB by 11 runs. They needed just 18 runs to win in the last two overs, with five wickets in hand, however, Josh Hazlewood bowled an exceptional penultimate over and gave just one run while taking two wickets. Earlier, RR failed to chase nine in the last over against Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants. This was RR's fifth straight loss in IPL as they slipped to eighth in the IPL points table.

The defeat has almost knocked RR out of the playoff race. They are not technically out of it, but they'll need a lot of things to fall in place to qualify. That too, if they win all their remaining games.
