Gujarat Titans (GT) registered a stunning victory against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in a one-sided encounter at the Eden Gardens on March 21 (Friday). Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan were the stars of the show with the bat. The duo continued their sparkling form with the bat that they have shown throughout the tournament. In fact, they have managed to break a huge record in the game.
Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan put up a score of 112 runs for the first wicket. This is now the duo's 6th 100-run stand in the IPL. They have thus become the Indian pair with the most century partnerships in the history of the IPL. They have broken the record of KL Rahul-Mayank Agarwal and Gautam Gambhir-Robin Uthappa, both of whom have 5 century partnerships each.

After GT were put in to bat first, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan began cautiously but accelerated after the powerplay. Both openers continued their good form as they slammed half-centuries. Sudharsan got out for 52, but Gill went on to score 90 runs. Some late blitz from Shahrukh Khan and Jos Buttler took GT to 198/3 in 20 overs.
Chasing the tricky target, KKR lost Rahmanullah Gurbaz in the first over to Mohammed Siraj. Thereafter, Rahane and Narine kept the scoreboard ticking with a few lusty blows before the West Indian fell to Rashid Khan for 17. However, KKR lost their way after losing wickets in the middle overs. Ultimately, Gujarat Titans defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders by 39 runs. Prasidh Krishna and Rashid Khan were the pick of the bowlers picking up 2 wickets each. With 12 points, GT have now gone to the top of the table.
