Ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) clash between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Danny Morrison left cricket fans stunned with a bizarre question to Shubman Gill at the toss. The ex-New Zealand cricketer questioned Gill if he was getting married soon, in a moment that quickly went viral on social media and sparked diverse reactions.
Although it was a moment that left many chuckling, not everyone was pleased with it. Many questioned the relevance of the remark during the toss, just minutes before the match. Morrison also faced flak for not asking the GT captain about the changes in the playing XI after Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and chose to bowl first.
The conversation between Morrison and Gill also led to an old chat between Mayanti Langer and Stuart Binny resurfacing on social media. The conversation which place during the second season of the now defunct Indian Cricket League (ICL) in 2008 saw Mayanti interviewing her future husband.
In the interaction, which took place four years before the couple tied the knot, Mayanti asked Binny about rumours about his marriage. Binny dismissed the rumours.

For those unversed, Mayani is among India's most accomplished sports anchors at the moment. Meanwhile, Binny played 6 Tests, 14 ODIs, and 3 T20Is for India. He holds the record of the best-bowling figures for India in ODI cricket with a stunning spell of 6-4 against Bangladesh in 2014.
Binny retired from professional cricket in 2021, but since then has been playing a few other leagues like the Legends League Cricket and the International Masters League.
Talking about the IPL, Gill was the star of the show with a 55-ball 90 as GT thrashed KKR by 39 runs to register their sixth win of the season in eight games.
