Former India cricketer Ambati Rayudu lifted the lid on accusations of bias against them towards MS Dhoni during the 2025 Indian Premier League, where he is part of the in-house expert and Hindi commentatory team for the host broadcaster.
Rayudu, who retired from the IPL after lifting the trophy with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2023, has taken up media duties for the last two seasons. However, his work has divided opinions as many fans have not been pleased with his allegiances to the Super Kings and Dhoni. Rayudu further went on to allege that there is a paid PR campaign going him.
"I was a Thala’s fan I am a Thala’s fan I will always be a Thala’s fan. No matter what anyone thinks or does. It will not make a one percent difference. So please stop spending money on paid pr and donate that to charity. Lot of underprivileged people can benefit," wrote Rayudu on X, also known as Twitter.
Since last year, Rayudu has engaged in banter with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans, which has caught eyes of cricket lovers on social media.
For those unversed, Rayudu is the joint-most decorated player alongside Rohit Sharma in the history of the IPL, having won the title six times. He was part of the Mumbai Indians (MI) from 2010 to 2017 and lifted the elusive title in 2013, 2015, and 2017. He joined CSK and played a key role in helping the Super Kings become champions in 2018, 2021, and 2023 under Dhoni's leadership.
Rayudu played a considerable part of his India career under Dhoni's leadership, too. Overall, the star batter featured in 55 ODIs and six T20Is for India.
Talking about CSK, they have made a miserable start ot the season with one win and four defeats in five matches so far.
