Rajat Patidar Receives BAD NEWS From BCCI Despite RCB's Statement Win Vs Mumbai Indians

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) continued their momentum in IPL 2024 when they snatched a nail-biting win against Mumbai Indians by 12 runs at the Wankhede Stadium. Captain Rajat Patidar stole the show with a Player of the Match winning knock in the match, as RCB won vs MI at the Wankhede after 10 longs years. However, despite this monumental win, Patidar has recieved a hefty fine from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)

Why Rajat Patidar Has Been Fined

In the second innings where they defended a target of 222, RCB were found guilty of maintaining a slow over rate. Hence, the captain Rajat Patidar was fined a hefty sum of Rs 12 lakh. The amount was such because this was RCB's first breach of the Code of Conduct this season in the IPL.
. “As this was his team’s first offence of the season under Article 2.2 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which pertains to minimum over-rate offences, Patidar was fined INR 12 lakhs," a statement from the IPL read.

Rajat Patidar, Krunal Pandya Guide RCB To Big Win

RCB completed their third win in four matches as they continued their unbeaten record away from home in the IPL 2025. This was the Rajat Patidar-led side's first victory against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium in 10 matches after six defeats in a row.
Chasing 222, MI lost openers Rohit Sharma (17) and Ryan Rickleton (17) in the powerplay. Will Jacks (12) and Suryakumar Yadav (28) failed to have an impact. Hardik Pandya (42 of 15) nearly pulled of a miracle while Tilak Varma completed a redemption after a class knock of 56 in 29 balls. However, both lost their wicket in within three balls. Krunal Pandya took four wickets while Yash Dayal and Josh Hazlewood got two wickets each.
Earlier, RCB posted 221 on the board after the MI won the toss and chose to bowl first. Virat Kohli top scored with 67, while Rajat Patidar slammed 64. On the other hand, Jitesh Sharma slammed 40 from 19 deliveries.
