Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) registered a monumental victory against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, thus winning their third match of the camoaign in four games. Virat Kohli has looked in good rythm in the tournament so far with the bat. He evn top scored for RCB vs MI with a 67-run knock, and was seen helping young RCB captain Rajat Patidar from time to time in the field. However, legendary India batter Sunil Gavaskar has named someone else as the person that Patidar is lucky to have.

In an interaction with JioStar, Sunil Gavaskar said that Rajat Patidar has seemed liberated as the leader with a solid group of seniors and support staff. He also particularly mentioned the influence of Dinesh Karthik, the new RB batting coach. He said that Karthik is the kind of pperson who offers guidance and inputs to the youngsters.

"He certainly seems liberated as the leader, and he knows he's got a solid group around him. He has seniors who are always willing to lend a hand, and a strong support staff. Someone like Dinesh Karthik — people don’t talk enough about his influence. DK is the kind of guy who, even on off days, spends time with younger players, offering guidance and inputs," Gavaskar said.

RCB are considered the unluckiest franchise in the IPL. Despite being one of the most followed teams in the compeition, they have never managed to win an IPL title in the last 17 seasons. Hence, they are gunning for their first trophy in IPL 2025.

"Rajat is lucky to have that environment — a group that’s been hungry for success. Seventeen years without a title, and now they understand what needs to be done to win. With a relaxed, laid-back captain, others are also stepping up with their experience to help move the team forward," Sunil Gavaskar added.
