The IPL 2025 has been a roller-coaster ride so far, as the action is almost reaching its midway point. In the tournament, the scheduling is such that there are two matches on Sundays and some Saturdays, while all weekdays usually have one match being played out. However, on April 8 (Tuesday) the IPL 2025 will witness a unique day as there are two matches being played out - Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) vs Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) from 3.30 PM, and Punjab Kings (PBKS) vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at 7.30 PM.

When the IPL 2025 schedule was initially announced, the only match that was supposed to take place on April 8, was the PBKS vs CSK match at Mullanpur from 7.30. The KKR vs LSG match at the Eden Gardens was supposed to take place at 3.30 PM on April 6 (Sunday).

However, the match had to be postponed to April 8 at 3.30 PM. This is because the police had told the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) that they would not be able to provide adequate security for the match because of the Ram Navami celebrations around the city. Hence, the BCCI shifted the date of the match.

Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants come into the game on Tuesday with similar fortunes, with the sides lying on 5th and 6th on the points table respectively.

Defending champions KKR began their campaign with a thumping loss to RCB at their home ground of Eden Gardens. In the next match, they comprehensively defeated the Rajasthan Royals. THey were then comprehensively defeated by 8 wickets by Mumbai Indians. However, they came back with a bang with a massive 80-run win against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

LSG were defeated by Delhi Capitals in a thrilling match to begin their campaign. This was followed with a win against SRH, followed by another loss against PBKS. In their last game, they snatched a big win against MI.
