Jasprit Bumrah is all set to make his on-field return for Mumbai Indians (MI) soon. The right-arm pacer has joined the MI's camp before their game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), scheduled to be played at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday (April 7). Bumrah isn't confirmed to be part of the fixture.
Bumrah has missed four games for MI so far. With only 1 win from 4 matches, the Hardik Pandya-led side is reeling at the 8th spot in the points table. Bumrah's addition to the MI camp is a big boost for them.
Jasprit Bumrah set to create history
Bumrah is set to create history for MI as he is set to become their highest wicket-taker in IPL. With 165 wickets from 133 matches, Bumrah is MI's second-highest wicket-taker in the T20 league.
He is just six wickets away from overtaking Lasith Malinga. The IPL legend finished his career with 170 wickets in 122 matches. Malinga's last appearance for MI came in the IPL 2019 final, where he bowled the 20th over to propel them to their fourth IPL title win.

Bumrah joined MI in 2013 and has been with them since then. MI re-signed him in the IPL 2014 mega-auction while he was retained before the IPL 2018, 2022 and 2025 mega-auctions. With a salary of Rs 18 crore, Bumrah is MI's highest-paid player in the ongoing season.
With 127 wickets, Harbhajan Singh sits at the third spot in the list of bowlers with the most wickets for MI in IPL. He is followed by Mitchell McClenaghan, who scalped 71 wickets in 56 matches.
MI's performance in IPL 2025
MI kicked off their campaign with a defeat against Chennai Super Kings. They suffered a 36-run defeat against Gujarat Titans in their second game. MI finally registered their first win at their home but suffered a defeat against Lucknow Super Giants in an away fixture. They will host RCB on Monday (April 7).
