Delhi Capitals registered their third successive victory of the campaign as they defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. This was also the third successive loss for CSK in IPL 2025 as the five-time champions continue their struggles in the tournament. While they left their home fans disappointed with a poor show, they also managed to achieve a feat that was never achieved in 5209 days.
Delhi Capitals last won a match at the MA Chidambaram back in 15th April, 2010. Hence, this was their first win at the Chepauk after exactly 5209 days, which amounts to nearly 15 years. In that match, DC restricted CSK to 112/9, and chased the runs down with 8 balls to spare. Gautam Gambhir won the Player of the Match for his crucial half-century. Interestingly, the last time DC defeated CSK at Chepauk, the Men in yellow went on to win their first-ever IPL trophy.
