24-year-old batter Nehal Wadhera, rescued Punjab Kings from initial blows has scored his first fifty of this season. While chasing 206 against the Rajasthan Royals, PBKS lost four wickets in just 43 runs. Wadhera then played a fantastic hand, as he provided some glimmer of hope to the home side.

However, the left-handed batter, departed after scoring a heroic 62 from 41 deliveries.

Nehal also scored a brilliant 43 runs in the last game against Lucknow Super Giants, playing a crucial role as the impact player, guiding PBKS to their second straight win.

Nehal Wadhera comes from Ludhiana, Punjab. He has played 14 first-class games for Punjab. He started his IPL career in 2023 with the Mumbai Indians and became a sensation by scoring back-to-back fifties against CSK and RCB. Punjab Kings signed him for INR 4.2 crore in the IPL 2025 auction.

Nehal Wadhera made his IPL debut for MI, scored a crucial 21 runs against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2023. IPL 2024 hasn't been so special for Nehal Wadhera, he averaged 18.16 in six games of the season. Nehal Wadhera has also represented India U-19 previously.

Wadhera's heroics didn't help at the end, and PBKS lost its first game of IPL 2025. Punjab slipped to fourth spot with the loss and RR moved to the seventh position. Nehal was the big positive for PBKS in this game, and Maxwell has also backed into form, which is a good sign for Punjab Kings. Punjab Kings will face Chennai on April 8, at their home soil. Chennai Super Kings is out of form as the side has lost three consecutive games in the IPL 2025.
