Will MS Dhoni announce shock retirement after the ongoing IPL 2025 match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Capitals (DC)? Social media was flooded with rumours of Dhoni's parents being in attendance for the game and the official broadcaster confirmed the same during DC's batting.

While Dhoni's wife, Sakshi is always in attendance during CSK's matches, his parents have made a rare appearance during an IPL game. It remains to be seen if Dhoni will shock the cricketing world by quitting the game after the CSK-DC fixture.

The India legend retired from international cricket in August 2020. He played his last game for Team India in the 2019 ODI World Cup. Dhoni has been playing since then and he continued to lead CSK till IPL 2023.

He captained the Yellow Army to 2 IPL titles after retiring from international cricket. Overall, he captained CSK to five IPL title wins before giving up captaincy. He now plays under Ruturaj Gaikwad's leadership.

Speaking to the media few days back, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming provided a huge update and revealed that he can't bat 10 overs runnings. Dhoni demoted himself in the batting order and came out to bat at number 9 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

"It's a time thing - MS judges it. His knees aren't what they used to be. He's moving OK, but there's still an attrition aspect to it. He can't bat 10 overs running full stick, so he will gauge on the day what he can give us. If the game's in the balance, he will go a little bit earlier, and he backs other players when other opportunities are up. It's about balancing that," Fleming said.

"I said last year he's too valuable and leadership wise to throw him in after nine or 10 overs - he's never done that. From around 13/14 he's looking to go depending on who is in."
