Lucknow Super Giants' start to IPL 2025 has not been very promising. They have lost two matches and won one, and the controversies surrounding the club seem never-ending. Visuals of their owner, Sanjiv Goenka, having an animated discussion with captain Rishabh Pant went viral on social media, sparking speculation about whether all is well in the camp.

Now, a report by MyKhel claimed that the franchise refused to attend the post-match presentation ceremony following their defeat to Punjab Kings earlier this week. LSG were supposed to send their representatives - player, coach or official - to the presentation ceremony following the protocol of IPL. However, during the event at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, nobody from the team was seen attending the ceremony, even though Goenka and other officials were present on the field.

“Mr. Goenka was on the field, and there was no such arrangement at all," an official was quoted as saying by MyKhel. Goenka's name was on the guest list, but he refused to attend the ceremony.

Goenka was previously embroiled in controversy during IPL 2024 when he was spotted having a heated argument with the franchise's former captain, KL Rahul, following their defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad.

In IPL 2025, LSG failed to make a strong start, slipping to the bottom half of the table after their defeats to Delhi Capitals by one wicket and Punjab Kings by eight wickets. Their only win so far came against Sunrisers Hyderabad. They are currently standing at the seventh spot with two points.

The franchise acquired Rishabh Pant as their captain for INR 27 crore this season. Lucknow Super Giants will face Mumbai Indians at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Friday.
