India returned to white ball cricket in style as they smashed England in the first T20I of the five-match series at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. They now look to continue their winning momentum when they take on the visitors in the second match of the series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. However, India has been dealt with a major blow prior to the match in Chennai. Two of the most important members of the playing XI, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Rinku Singh will not be part of the match, as BCCI have confirmed.

Why Nitish Reddy And Rinku Singh Will Not Be Playing Second T20I Vs England
According to an official statement by the BCCI, Nitish Kumar Reddy suffered a side-strain during a practice session before the 2nd T20I on January 24th. He has thus been ruled out of the entire series and will be reporting to the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru to recover from this injury.
Rinku Singh, on the other hand, sustained a low back spasm, while he was fielding during the 1st T20I vs England in Kolkata. He has been ruled out for 2nd and 3rd matches of the ongoing T20I series. However, the BCCI have also informed that he is progressing well from his niggle.

Who Has Replaced Nitish Kumar Reddy And Rinku Singh In India Squad?
The BCCI have also announced two replacements in the India squad. Shivam Dube, who himself was out of action from the Bangladesh and South Africa T20I series due to an injury returns to the scheme of things for India in the shortest format of the game. All-rounder Ramandeep Singh, who made an impressive debut for India in the T20I series vs South Africa, has also been drafted into the squad.
