India played out a sensational draw from the jaws of defeat in the fourth Test of the five-match series against England at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester, as they made sure that there is a chance that they could finish the series level at 2-2 if they win the fifth Test. Ravindra Jadeja was one of the main pillars in this victory. He slammed an unbeaten century in the second innings, as India pulled off a draw. He also picked 4 wickets in the second innings as England were all out for 669. Jadeja has now become the second player ever to achieve a rare all-round feat.
Ravindra Jadeja now has 34 wickets in England, in addition to scoring more than 1000 runs in the country. He now becomes the second away player in the world after West Indies legend Sir Garfield Sobers to score 1000+ runs and take 30+ wickets in England. Overall, he becomes the third player in the world to achieve this feat in an away nation after Sobers and England's Wilfred Rhodes (in Australia).
Ravindra Jadeja Smashes Multiple Records At Manchester
Ravindra Jadeja smashed his fifth 50+ score in the ongoing Test series against England. He now becomes the player with the joint-most number of such scores in a Test series against England batting at no.5 or lower. He also now has nine 50+ scores batting at no.6 or lower in England in Tests, which is the joint-most by a visiting batter in England, equalling the tally of the great Gary Sobers once again.
Ravindra Jadeja also became the first Indian batter to smash two centuries coming at 6 or lower in England. Overall, he becomes the third Indian to hit multiple centuries coming in at no.6 or below in an away country. Yuvraj Singh has scored two hundreds in Pakitan, while Ravichandran Ashwin has two centuries to his name in West Indies.
