India pulled off a heroic draw at Old Trafford to keep the series alive. India were reeling at 0/2 in the second innings after England took a massive 311 run lead in the first innings. It seemed that the game would be over on Day 4, but Gill and KL Rahul led India's fightback. Gill smashed a magnificent century and KL Rahul made 90 to bail India out of trouble, but the job was far from over.
India lost KL Rahul early on Day 5 and Shubman Gill fell at the stroke of Lunch. With England still having 100+ run lead, they sniffed victory, but Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar held fort for the team, and scored centuries to draw the Test.

England Go All Out At Jadeja, Sundar

With 15 overs left in the day, England captain Ben Stokes went to Jadeja and Sundar to call off the game, but the Indian batters refused as both were near their respective centuries. This was a weird call from Stokes as both deserved centuries, but their refusal left England fuming, and they went all out at the batters, sledging them with nasty remarks.
"Why do you guys need to chat?" Just continue playing from this end," said Brook to Sundar and Jadeja after they assembled to have a chat after overs.

Jadeja Gives It Back

When Jadeja reached his hundred, Brook went to him to shake hands, but Jadeja refused as Sundar was also near his hundred.
India captain Shubman Gill explained the reason behind refusing to shake hands, and said that both players played well and deserved hundreds. "We thought they (Jadeja and Sundar) batted brilliantly, they were in their 90s, we thought they deserved a century there," said Gill.
