KL Rahul created history and etched his name in the record books after achieving yet another milestone in England. Rahul became only the fifth Indian to score over 1,000 Test runs in the country, joining the iconic quartet of Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli, and Sunil Gavaskar.

But his feat did not stop there.

Rahul also became just the second Indian opener to score 1000+ Test runs in overseas conditions, thus showcasing his renewed confidence, adaptability and resilience while opening the batting for India. In the ongoing series against England, the 33-year-old has also bagged 400+ runs, his highest-ever tally in a single Test series.

KL Rahul also became only the second Indian opener, after Sunil Gavaskar, to stitch three or more 50+ opening partnerships in a single Test series in England. Remarkably, Rahul has now achieved this twice, once with Rohit Sharma in 2021, and now with Yashasvi Jaiswal in 2025.

Rahul has been in a good mental headspace, ever since he landed on the English shores. After his classic hundred at Lord’s, he revealed his mental drills and said, "I spent some time with an expert for some mental drills to improve my reaction times."

“Worked with coaches who work with F1 guys and adventure sports. That's the only different thing. I always enjoy batting long hours. I have strived for consistency all my career. Happy that performances are coming through now," Rahul added.
