After a break of 9 days after the heartbreaking loss to England in the 3rd Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at Lord's, the two sides go head to head once again at Old Trafford in Manchester in the fourth Test. This will be a do-or-die game for India, as a loss would mean that they would lose the series with a match to go. India need to win this game to level the series 2-2, and star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant will be key for the team to seal the victory, given his current form. He is also on the verge of breaking a Rohit Sharma record.
Rishabh Pant has 2677 runs in World Test Championship (WTC) history for India. Rohit Sharma holds the record for the most runs for India in WTC history, with 2716 runs to his name. If Pant scores 40 runs in the fourth Test, he has the chance to overtake the former India Test captain and break his record.
Here are the batters with most runs for India in WTC history:
Player Runs Number Of Innings
Rohit Sharma 2716 69
Rishabh Pant 2677 66
Virat Kohli 2617 79
Shubman Gill 2500 65
