Having lost the third Test against England at Lord's, the Shubman Gill-led side would be looking to make a comeback in the fourth Test of the five-match series. England, once again, showed a lot of character to win the third Test by 22 runs, having been under the pump for the majority of the Lord's Test. This is quite similar to the first Test of the series, where India held the upper hand for the first four days of the match, but England came all guns blazing on the last day to clinch a famous victory.
India, however, came back strongly in the second Test of the series and won by 336 runs at Edgbaston, Birmingham. England, by winning the first and third Test, are 2-1 up in the five-match Test series.
India vs England: When Is the 4th Test?
The fourth Test between India and England is scheduled to start from the 23rd of July at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester. The toss will take place at 3:00 pm IST, and the first ball of the match is expected to take place at 3:30 pm IST. The stadium has a capacity of 19000 and hosts Lancashire.
India, in all likelihood, is expected to make a couple of changes. Jasprit Bumrah might not be playing the 4th Test, owing to workload management. India might be tempted to play Kuldeep Yadav in place of Nitish Kumar Reddy, while Arshdeep Singh is likely to replace Bumrah in the Playing XI for the fourth Test. Rishabh Pant is expected to get fit ahead of the fourth Test, having injured his finger in the first innings.
For England, Jofra Archer might be given a rest to manage his workload, and Gus Atkinson might take his place.
Shoaib Bashir might have to sit out due to a finger injury.
The match will be telecast live on Sony Sports Network and will be streamed live on the JioHotstar app.
