Kishor Kumar Sadhak, a spinner of Indian descent, made history by recording two hat-tricks in a row on English soil. In the Division Six match of the Two Counties Championship, Sadhak accomplished an incredible accomplishment. The Ipswich spinner took six wickets for 21 runs in the match against Colchester Cricket Club. Five of the batters were bowled by him. He was out-caught for the wicket that gave him his second hat-trick in the same innings. Jaskaran Singh was also run out by Sadhak during the innings. In 30 overs, Kesgrave was knocked out for 138.
Following his six-wicket haul, Sadhak also had an impact with the bat. With two fours and a six, he was unbeaten for 14 runs. In 21 overs, Ipswich managed to chase down the target.
"When I saw that the person was bowled out, I was flying in the sky. It was amazing," the 37-year-old told BBC Essex
There were celebrations after the victory. As Sadhak's phone continued to buzz, he became the talk of the town.
"After the match, I got plenty of phone calls. We went to a restaurant and we enjoyed drinks and food. We spent almost two and a half hours there. It was a very lovely moment," he added.
After a bowling exhibition for the record books, Sadhak maintains his humility. Sadhak feels that he will be given priority. However, he is still unsure about being listed first on the teamsheet despite his historic feat.
"There are lots of other players who play really well. So, I wouldn't say I'm the first person on the teamsheet, but I will be in a priority position!" he concluded.
According to the BBC, there have been two incidents before as well where two bowlers picked two hat-tricks in a game. Jimmy Matthews of Australia took two hat-tricks against South Africa 113 years ago. Australia's left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc also accomplished this feat in a Sheffield Shield match against New South Wales in 2017. On both occasions, though, the hat-tricks were recorded in separate innings.
