Ahead of the third Test match at Lord's, Indian pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah was seen bowling in a spectacular fashion during the nets session. He also had some fun batter with bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur, who is known to his teammates and supporters as 'Lord Thakur', a nickname he got for his incredible innings in crucial moment and breaking partnerships with ball when needed. On Thursday, the game at Lord's will begin. India has won two of their Lord's matches from their last three tours.
Under the leadership of MS Dhoni, India triumphed in 2014. The squad captained by Virat Kohli then achieved a historic victory in the 2021–22 series. The morale going into the game would undoubtedly be quite high, given the series is now 1-1 apiece after a historic 336-run victory at Edgbaston, and Bumrah's return to the team after missing that game due to workload management will only provide bigger boost.
Bumrah's Hilarious Banter With Shardul
"Ye dekho, Lord's, Lord (pointing at Shardul)," said Bumrah as the Shardul Thakur jokingly touched the pacer's feet.
"Tabhi Jasprit Bumrah ke pair padne padte hai," Thakur replied.
"Ye inka (Thakur) badappan hai (This is his generosity). Mai inke sath khada hua, wahi mai jeet gaya (I am standing near him, I have won here itself)," Bumrah said jokingly
Bumrah's second out of the three Tests on the tour will be the Lord's Test, captain Shubman Gill confirmed after India's victory at Edgbaston. Bumrah had a lot of work to do in the first Test, as his less experienced teammates gave up too many runs. He grabbed five wickets in the first innings, including Root's, and bowled about 44 overs during the match. Despite his best efforts, he was wicketless in the second innings while defending 371 runs.
