This offseason, Travis Hunter, a rookie for the Jacksonville Jaguars, has been one of the league's most talked-about players. Everyone had an opinion on what position he should primarily focus on at the professional level, and there were discussions about where he would be picked. There is a fresh reason to talk about the two-way phenomena. He is being considered as a top choice as a member of their flag football roster for the United States of America at the 2028 Summer Olympics.
ESPN's Matt Bowen created his dream squad for the United States Flag Football team for the 2028 Olympics. Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys, Cooper DeJean of the Philadelphia Eagles, Antoine Winfield Jr. of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Pat Surtain of the Denver Broncos, and Travis Hunter of the Jaguars were the five defensive players he named.
Hunter has not played a single match in the NFL yet, but he will be 25 years old in 2028 and might be starting or in his prime already.
Hunter was selected as the overall second pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and have won the Heisman Award. He is now a strong candidate to play for the United States of America in the 2028 Olympics thanks to his exceptional ability to play on both sides of the ball.
He is a walking example of cheat code. It would be an amazing sight to see the Jaguars represented at the very first Olympic flag football competition. The Jaguars made the bold decision to trade up for Hunter because they believed he would be a spectacle to witness. And while he battles to potentially win gold for the USA, many experts believe that everyone in the world would love watching him make plays on both sides of the ball.
