Kohli and Djokovic share a friendship that the legendary duo revealed last year developed through messages on Instagram, where they first contacted each other. The Serbian had shared a special post on the photo-sharing application for Kohli after his 50th ODI century and his retirement from Test cricket.
Alongside Kohli, the stands at Centre Court were filled with legends from the sporting world during Djokovic's match. Roger Federer was the main attraction as the eight-time champion returned to the arena he dominated for two decades. England cricket stars Joe Root and James Anderson were also present. While all sporting greats were captured, Kohli was not spotted by the TV cameras. However, later images emerged of the Indian cricket great sitting in the stands with wife Anushka Sharma.
Talking about Kohli, he is reported to stay in the United Kingdom with his family for some part of the year. The 36-year-old announced his retirement from Test cricket love two months ago. He is now an active international player only in ODI cricket and will only be seen in action for Team India in October when the Men in Blue tour Australia for three ODIs.
Kohli was last seen on the field during the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), where he had a season to remember as he scored 657 runs in 15 innings at an average of 54.75. The modern-day legend lifted the IPL trophy for the first time in his career as RCB ended an 18-year wait for their maiden title and lifted the prestigious trophy for the first time in his career under Rajat Patidar's leadership.
