
Not Virat Kohli Or Rohit Sharma! Vaibhav Suryavanshi Names 25-Year-Old Superstar As Role Model

Vaibhav Suryavanshi is without a doubt being considered as the next big thing in Indian cricket. He brought the world to notice in IPL 2024, when at just 14 years old, he slammed the fastest century by an Indian in the league's history, for Rajasthan Royals against Gujarat Titans. The young sensation from Bihar has now in England with the India U-19 team where he is making waves. He was also present watching the senior team in action in the 2nd Test match vs England at Edgbaston, Birmingham. He has named his role model and it is not Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli.
Shubman Gill created history in the second Test match vs England as he smashed 269, helping India reach a solid total of 578. This is now the highest ever individual score by an Indian Test captain. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who was present in the stands, alongside the India U-19 team, said that the new Indian Test captain is a role model. He also highlighted his dream to play red-ball cricket for India.
“I am feeling very good. This is my first Test in England and I am seeing how the game is going. I am feeling very good. We all came to watch the match. We got a lot of inspiration. Shubman Gill is a role model for us. Everyone’s dream is to play red-ball cricket for their country,” Suryavanshi said.

Shubman Gill Breaks Multiple Records
Shubman Gill became the first Indian batsman to hit 150 or more runs in England in 23 years, following Rahul Dravid's historic 217 at The Oval in 2002. In his capacity as captain, Gill also eclipsed Mohammed Azharuddin's record of 179 at Old Trafford in 1990, which was the greatest individual Test score by an Indian captain in England.
He also broke the record for highest individual score by an Indian batter in England after surpassing 221, which was previously the mark set by Sunil Gavaskar in 1979. He also became the second youngest captain to hit a double century getting ahead of legendary Sachin Tendulkar in the tally. He is only behind MAK Pataudi.
