The men’s hockey Asia cup, slated to take place in August, and the Junior Hockey World Cup in November, will see Pakistan mark their presence even as speculations were high whether they will be given clearance for the tournaments in the backdrop of Operation sindoor and the Pahalgam attack.

Top sources within the sports ministry have confirmed to TIMES NOW, that Green signal has been given to Hockey India to make preparations for the two tournaments as scheduled.

Sources confirm this has been done as India cannot be at a loss as far as the Olympic charter is concerned. If India were to not allow Pakistan to travel or compete in tournaments being hosted at home - it could lose its chance to host the Olympics in 2036 or CWG in 2030, if India wins the bidding.

Not just hockey, athletics, shooting also have important and big tournaments lined up for 2025 and if the precedent is set in hockey, then we will see Pakistan team travelling (if qualified) in the above-mentioned sports as well.

India is hosting World Athletics Continental Tour (bronze level) in Bhubaneshwar in August and Junior shooting World Cup in September later this year.
