The Indian players celebrated the one-year anniversary of their T20 World Cup win in England. The players cut a cake and enjoyed the historic moment together. Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mohammed Siraj are among the 7 players in England who were part of the WC-winning team. India's Test captain, Shubman Gill, couldn't make it to the WC squad. He was named in the list of reserve players but didn't travel to West Indies.
During the celebrations, Rishabh joked with Jadeja about his retirement. The star all-rounder quit T20I cricket a day after the final. "Happy retirement to Jaddu bhai, ek saal ho gya (it's been one year)," Rishabh said. Jadeja came up with a quick response and reminded everyone that he has only given up one format of the game.
The star all-rounder continues to play Test and ODI cricket. He was part of the 2025 Champions Trophy-winning team. He remains India's first-choice all-rounder in Tests and ODIs. Jadeja ended his T20I career with 74 T20I caps. He scored 515 runs and scalped 54 wickets.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli also retired
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli also gave up T20I cricket after the T20 WC win. Rohit announced his retirement during the post-match press conference. Virat retired a few minutes after the final.
Both India legends announced their Test retirements in May 2025 and they are now only active in ODIs. Rohit will lead India in the 2027 ODI World Cup.
