The Secretary of the Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBF), Colonel Naseem Butt, has announced the formation of a 7-member committee to oversee the divisional association elections across Sindh. These elections are scheduled to take place in October across all seven divisions.

During his recent visit to Malaysia and Singapore to promote basketball, Colonel Naseem Butt engaged with local associations and returned to Pakistan with renewed plans for development.

One of the key announcements includes the All Pakistan Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Basketball Tournament, set to be held in Karachi in December 2025, with participation from an international team from Malaysia.

Colonel Butt also declared the launch of a prestigious performance-based accolade - the Sardar Ghulam Muhammad Mahar Excellence in Basketball Award, named after a close associate of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. This award will be presented at the conclusion of the tournament.

To ensure smooth and transparent elections in Sindh's basketball associations, the newly formed committee will oversee the election process at the divisional level in October, followed by provincial-level elections. The committee is chaired by renowned sports patron Muhammad Haider Khan from Karachi and includes the following members: Akhtar Ali Abbasi (Larkana), Younis Qureshi (Benazirabad), Farukh Habib (Hyderabad), Faisal Memon (Mirpurkhas), Engineer Sanjay Kumar (Sukkur).
