England will host India in the first of the five-match Test series from June 20 at Headingley, Leeds. The series will mark the beginning of a fresh cycle of the World Test Championship for both teams. The last time India toured England, they gave the hosts a run for their money, drawing the series 2-2. The challenge will be stiffer this time around as veterans Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma won't be part of the series due to retirements from the format. R Ashwin is also retired, while Mohammed Shami wasn't picked due to fitness concerns. It was also confirmed that Jasprit Bumrah will only play three matches for the team.
India, however, have plenty of quality in the team. KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Bumrah, and Shubman Gill carry enough experience, while the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Nitish Reddy, Sai Sudharsan, Karun Nair, among others, are not short on talent.
England are a brute force at home and will come hard at India, but they're a beatable side, making the series a thrilling affair.
