'Reporting for national duty': Pant poses in whites ahead of England Tests (Source: X)
India's World Test Championship (WTC) 2025–27 campaign will begin with a five-match Test series against England, and the new leadership team of head coach Gambhir and captain Shubman Gill are expected to do well. Following recent setbacks, like as a home series loss to New Zealand and a Border-Gavaskar Trophy loss to Australia, the team will be hoping to bounce back.
Rishabh Pant Addresses Anderson And Broad
Rishabh Pant, who has been appointed as the new vice-captain for the Indian Test team ahead of the England series, addressed what it would be like playing against England without James Anderson and Stuart Broad.
"Definitely, it feels so good when both of them are not there because coming from the last two tours, they have been there for England for so many years, and I have only come here for two tours," said Rishabh Pant in the press conference ahead of the 1st IND vs ENG Test
"But at the same time, they have enough ammunition in the England bowling line-up and we don't want to take anyone lightly because our team is also young and still looking to develop themselves, at the same time, we are gonna play our cricket and respect the bowlers, opposition where it needed," he added.
Even though they defeated England 4-1 at home earlier this year in the Test series, the forthcoming away test is a very different test. The Leeds opener will have more weight because both teams will be eager to start the new WTC season strongly.
