Glenn Maxwell turned on beast mode and smashed his eighth T20 century while playing for Washington Freedom against the Los Angeles Knight Riders. Maxwell was slow to start and scored 11 runs in the first 15 balls before going berserk and scoring a 48-ball century. Maxwell was in the six-hitting zone and blasted 13 sixes and two fours in the brutal onslaught. Maxwell's blistering hundred helped the Freedom post a daunting total of 208-5 in 20 overs. The Freedom were struggling at 92-5 in the 12th over, and it looked like they'd settle for a below-par score, but the 'Big Show' once again proved why he is rated as one of the biggest match winners in this format of the game.

Glenn Maxwell Breaks Massive Record

Meanwhile, Maxwell created history after scoring a century against the Los Angeles Knight Riders. The knock helped Maxwell go past the 10,500 run mark in T20 cricket. Maxwell brings a lot of value to the T20 teams and contributes with his 360 gameplay. Along with his batting prowess, Maxwell is also very handy with the ball. The Aussie all-rounder also has 178 wickets to his name in T20 cricket.
The century by Maxwell was his eighth in T20 cricket, and thus he became the only player in the world to complete a triple of 10,500 runs, over 170 wickets, and multiple T20 hundreds. Kieron Pollard and Shoaib Malik are the other players to have over 10000 runs and more than 150 wickets in T20s. Pollard has 13599 runs and 326 wickets to his name, with one century, while Malik has 13571 runs and 187 wickets to his tally.

Maxwell's Treat To Mom And Dad

Maxwell's family was present at the venue, and the Aussie was delighted to play a brilliant knock in front of his parents.
"Came in slightly different circumstances, needed to bat differently, started pretty slow but once I thought we needed a few more runs took my shots and it came off. We just needed to bat time at that stage. I was hoping myself and Chapman could take it deep, we could maybe target the last 5-6 overs, manipulate the field. It is pretty cool. They (his mom and dad) don't get to see me make runs very often, so it is nice to have them here," he said.
