Paris Saint-Germain are without star forward Ousmane Dembele for their opening fixture of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup against Atletico Madrid at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California, United States on Sunday (
June 15).
The Ballon d'Or favourite suffered an injury last week during France's UEFA Nations League semi-final defeat against Spain. Dembele suffered a thigh injury and did not play the third-place clash against Germany either.
There is still no update on Dembele's return date and when he will be able to take part in the tournament or any update on the status of his injury from the club. Dembele is neither part of PSG's starting XI nor bench today.
Dembele was key to PSG's historic season as he scored 33 goals and 15 assists in all competitions as the club won a historic quadruple. In the club's first-ever Champions League triumph, Dembele scored eight goals and gave six assists.
He set-up two goals in the final, which the Paris-based club won a record-breaking margin of five goals. He was the joint-top score of Ligue 1 with 21 goals.
