Australia are currently taking on South Africa in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground in London. Needing 282 to win their first ICC trophy after 27 years, South Africa are in the driver's seat right now as captain Temba Bavuma is looking dangerous. However, he could have found out much earlier in the fourth innings. However, Steve Smith missed a golden opportunity to get him out, and in the process injured himself.
Bavuma was batting on two runs, when he edged a ball from Mitchell Starc. It went straight into the hands of Steve Smith at slip. However, it just brushed his fingers, as he dropped the catch. This drop proved costly for Smith as he looked to have injured his finger. He was seething in pain, and had to be taken off the field as well.
