Australia are curently taking on South Africa in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground in London. In the hird innings of the match, Australia were reeling at one stage despite taking a 74-run lead, and it looked like they will be bundled out by South Africa at a lead of under 200. However, the tailenders pulled things back for the defending champions. Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood put up a valiant fight for the 10th wicket, and managed to create history.
For the 10th wicket, the Australian pair of Hazlewood and Starc put on 59 runs. This is now the first time that a 10th wicket pair has put on more than 50 runs in an ICC final. The previous highest was by the Australian pair of Dennis Lille and Jeff Thomson, who scored 41 runs vs West Indies in the ODI World Cup 1975 final.
