KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Indian team will play five Test matches against England
  • India and India A will play each other in an intra-squad match
The two-match unofficial Test series between India A and England Lions came to an end on Monday (June 9) after the second match in Canterbury ended in a draw following the visitors taking a first innings lead and putting in a strong show with the bat. Earlier, the first match in Northampton also ended in a stalemate meaning the series finished 0-0
While both games were played on batting-friendly track with little help for bowlers, a result was always unlikely in four days. However, the series was important for the Indian team beyond the result as seven players from the team are part of the senior side that will play a marquee five-match Test series against England from June 20.
While a couple of players are guranteed a playing XI spot and travelled with the A team to get used to the conditions, the others are fighting for a spot in the line-up. Here is a look at how all seven players who are part of the Shubman Gill-led side performed in the shadow tour.
