Jasprit Bumrah Needs 2 Five-Fors To Become First Player In History To Achieve This Massive WTC Record

The upcoming five-match Test series against England will mark the beginning of a new era of Indian cricket. With Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma retired, the onus will be on the next generation of players to be the flagbearers of Indian cricket. India will be short on experience in England, and under the new captain, Shubman Gill, face an uphill task of winning the series in the country, something they've not done since 2007.
India enjoyed a lot of success overseas before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and it was the bowlers who laid the foundation of the wins. The mantra for success doesn't change in England. If the bowling unit does well, India will have a great series. Jasprit Bumrah will hold the key for India. Bumrah will not play all five Tests and will be used efficiently to avoid any breakdowns.
This is not a bad move by India because a fresher Bumrah can be lethal in the games he plays. If he can do well in the three matches he plays and leads India to a win, it's a job well done.
Burmah Eyes Major Milestone
Jasprit Bumrah is one of the best pacers in the world. With 156 wickets in just 35 Tests, he is India's leading wicket-taker in the World Test Championship. Bumrah has a chance to break a huge record in the WTC during the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy. Bumrah currently has the most five-wicket hauls in WTC among pacers - 10. He is only behind R Ashwin (11) in the list of the most-wicket hauls in the WTC. If he can take two more five-fors during the England series, the possibility of which is extremely high, he will become the first player in the world to take 12 five-wicket hauls in WTC history.
India Need Vintage Siraj In England
With Mohammed Shami out, India will need Mohammed Siraj in peak form to give Bumrah a breather. The team has Prasidh Krishna and Akash Deep as main pacers, but both lack experience in English conditions. A good show by Siraj will provide massive support to Bumrah and thus boost India's chances of a win.
