The IPL 2025 has finally come to a close with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) winning the trophy for the first time in 18 years, thus ending the long wait of fans. Several players had a solid tournament, including the likes of Sai Sudharsan who won the Orange Cap, and Prasidh Krishna who won the purple cap. However, there were many players who did not perform at all according to potential, especially since they fetched big bucks from their teams, but could not provide value for money.
From Rishabh Pant to Ravichandran Ashwin, here is a look at the flop XI of the IPL 2025:
Rachin Ravindra- The star New Zealand batter was brought in by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for Rs 4 crore. He was supposed to be CSK's star opener, but could only manage 191 runs from 8 matches.
Ishan Kishan- Ishan Kishan started the IPL 2025 is great fashion for Sunrisers Hyderabad as he scored a century. However, he failed to score runs in the games thereafter, finishing with 196 runs in the tournament.
Rishabh Pant (c)- Rishabh Pant became the highest-paid player in IPL history when Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) bought him for Rs 27 crore. He scored 269 runs in 13 games, with most of his knocks being single-digit scores.
Venkatesh Iyer- Bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at a whopping Rs 23.75 crore, Venkatesh iyer could only manage to score 142 runs. He was even dropped in the last few matches.
Glenn Maxwell- Punjab Kings had a brilliant IPL 2025 where they reached the final. However, Glenn Maxwell was in horrific form for th team. He scored 48 runs in 6 games, and picked up just 4 wickets.
Nitish Kumar Reddy: SRH retained Nitish Kumar Reddy after he won the Emerging Player of the season award in IPL 2024. However, he could only manage to score 182 runs and take 2 wickets in the IPL 2025.
MS Dhoni (wk)- CSK legend MS Dhoni probably had his most forgettable season for CSK. He scored just 196 runs from 14 games at a lowly strike rate of 135.
Rashid Khan- Superstar Afghan spinner Rashid Khan had his worst-ever IPL season in 2025 for Gujarat Titans. He picked up 9 wickets at an average of over 57.
Ravichandran Ashwin- R Ashwin;s homecoming at CSK was not something that he would have hoped for after his Rs 9.75 crore purchase. He managed to take only 7 wickets from 9 games.
Deepak Chahar- Deepak Chahar was probably the weakest link in Mumbai Indians' bowling line-up. He picked up 11 wickets in 14 games.
Mohammed Shami- Purchased by SRH for Rs 10 crore, Mohammed Shami had a forgettable return to the IPL after missing last season due to injury. He picked up 6 wickets from 9 games at an economy of over 11.
