
EXPLAINED: Why RCB's Open Bus Parade To Celebrate IPL 2025 Title Win Has Been Cancelled

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally ended the long wait of their fans as they lifted their maiden IPL trophy after defeated Punjab Kings in a thrilling match in the IPL 2025 final at Ahmedabad by a margin of 6 runs. This was a huge moment for the franchise and the fans as they finally won the big one after 18 long years. They were set for a special celebration in Bengaluru with the fans. However, the much-awaited bus parade now stands postponed from the earlier time of 2 pm.
RCB were set to travel from Vidhan Soudha to the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in an open bus parade., after meeting Chief Minister M Siddaramaiah. However, the Bengaluru Traffic Police has now confirmed that the parade was cancelled. This is due to heavy traffic and congestion.

"Due to the felicitation function for RCB team at Chinnaswamy Stadium from 5 PM to 6 PM, public are advised to avoid roads surrounding Vidhana Soudha and Chinnaswamy Stadium from 3 PM to 8 PM. There will be NO victory parade. Due to limited parking, public are advised to use Metro and other public transport," the Bengaluru Traffic Police stated.
However, in a post on their X account RCB declared the victory parade will happen, but it has been postponed to 5 PM. It will begin at Vidhan Soudha and end at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium at 6 PM.
This will be followed by a special felicitation ceremony at RCB's home ground.
Virat Kohli Dedicated Win To Fans
Virat Kohli, in a heartfelt post on his Instagram account, dedicated the momentous IPL trophy wins to the fans, who have been with the team through all the ups and downs.
"This team made the dream possible, a season I’ll never ever forget. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the ride over the last 2.5 months. This one is for the fans of rcb who never ever left our side in the worst of times. This one is for all the years of heartbreak and disappointment. This is for every inch of effort left on the field playing for this team. As far as the IPL trophy is concerned, you’ve made me wait 18 years to be able to lift you and celebrate my friend, but it’s been absolutely worth the wait," Kohli wrote.
