Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) ended their 18-year-long title drought by winning the 18th season of IPL 2025. The Rajat Patidar-led side defeated Shreyas Iyer's Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the summit clash, held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday (June 3). RCB have been part of the tournament since its inception.

Social media was flooded with wishes for RCB and a special wish came from Sanjiv Goenka, the owner of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The LSG owner congratulated RCB on their maiden IPL title and namedropped Virat Kohli in his post. He also mentioned PBKS captain, Shreyas Iyer.

"Congratulations to @RCBTweets on winning their first @IPL title. Best wishes to @imVkohli, @rrjjt_01, and Andy Flower on this well-earned triumph. Commendable effort from @PunjabKingsIPL throughout the season. @ShreyasIyer15, you led like a champion," he wrote in his post.

RCB successfully defended a total of 190. Virat played a crucial role with the bat and hit 43 off 35 balls. He was RCB's highest run-scorer in the final. Krunal Pandya bowled a Player of the Final spell and only spent 17 runs in 4 overs. He scalped 2 wickets.

Sanjiv Goenka-owned Lucknow Super Giants crashed out of the league stage of IPL 2025. The Rishabh Pant-led side managed 6 wins from 14 matches. They suffered 8 defeats.

LSG spent a huge sum of Rs 27 crore on Rishabh but the decision to buy him didn't benefit them much in IPL 2025. Rishabh also struggled on the batting front and scored 269 runs in 13 innings.

He had scored 151 runs in his first 12 innings. The LSG captain signed off from the season with a 118-run knock against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. RCB won the game by 6 wickets. It remains to be seen if LSG decide to release Rishabh before IPL 2026 auction or not.
