Punjab Kings' (PBKS) wait to win their maiden IPL title was extended by another year after they lost their second IPL to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Tuesday. The Shreyas Iyer-led side topped the points table and made it to the final by winning the second qualifier. But they once again fumbled in the summit clash and finished second.
Yuzvendra Chahal, who was part of PBKS in IPL 2025, lost his third IPL final. Interestingly, he lost his first IPL final with RCB in 2016. Led by Virat Kohli back then, RCB lost the final against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Chahal lost his second IPL final with Rajasthan Royals in 2022. The Sanju Samson-led side lost to Hardik Pandya's Gujarat Titans in that game. Chahal lost his third IPL final with PBKS.
As Chahal lost his third IPL final, he joined the list of players to lose finals with 3 different teams. The likes of R Ashwin, Shikhar Dhawan and Rahul Tripathi are among the players who are part of this list.
Ashwin, who was part of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2025, has lost IPL finals with CSK, RR and Delhi Capitals (DC).
Dhawan lost IPL finals with MI, DC and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Tripathi, who played for CSK in IPL 2025, has lost finals with Rising Pune Super Giants, SRH and Kolkata Knight Riders.
