After a 17-year wait to lift the Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy ended, Virat Kohli was evidently esctatic as he got his hands on the prestigious prize for the first time in history at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad after a victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six runs in the summit clash.

As RCB celebrated their maiden title, Kohli's gesturefor TV Anchor Mayanti Langer went viral on social media. As the Rajat Patidar-led side were taking a lap of the stadium, the Indian cricket legend noticed Mayanti as she was hosting a post-match show with Navjot Singh Sidhu for the host broadcaster.

Kohli decided to step away from his teamamtes with the trophy and asked Mayanti to touch the trophy.

For those unversed, Mayanti has been part of RCB's media team this year and hosted the RCB podcast. She also hails from Bengaluru. Moreover, she is the wife of Stuart Binny, who played for RCB and was part of the team that reached the final in 2016 and suffered heartbreak after defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

"my husband played for RCB and lost the 2016 Final. I'm a Bengaluru girl, Virat Kohli let me touch the IPL trophy. I cannot believe it," said Mayanti on Star Sports after the heartwarming exchange.

"Grateful that@RCBTweetsincluded us in this special moment. that was a nod to the 2016 team, I was only the messenger," she wrote on X.

Stuart, a pace-bowling all-rounder, who played in all three formats for India also featued in 22 matches for RCB over a period of two years between 2016 and 2017. He scored 141 runs and took five wickets for the franchise.

Intrestingly, Stuart is the son of 1983 World Cup-winner Roger Binny, who is also the current BCCI President. Stuart and Mayanti married each other in 2012 and parents to a son, who was born in 2022.
