Virat Kohli's dream to win the IPL finally came true as Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Punjab Kings by six wickets to win the IPL 2025. Kohli has been the face of IPL, but he couldn't win the IPL trophy for 18 years. RCB reached the final thrice during these years, but suffered defeats each time. But Kohli kept believing in the team, and stood by them like a wall, along with the loyal fanbase.

RCB played like champions throughout the season and ended the tournament as deserving winners. They won nine out of the 14 games in the league stage before beating PBKS twice in Qualifier 1 and the final to lift the trophy.

Will Virat Kohli Retire After IPL 2025?

Rumours were doing rounds that Virat Kohli might retire from the IPL after winning the trophy, but Kohli dropped a massive hint that he is far from over in the IPL. During the post-match chat with Matthew Hayden, Kohli said he will continue to play for RCB till the last game he plays in IPL, which is a clear indication that he is not going to retire now.

"As I said, I've given everything that I had for the last 18 years. I've stayed loyal to this team, no matter what. I've had moments where I thought otherwise, but I stuck to this team. I stood behind them, they stood behind me. And I always dreamt of winning it with them. And this is far more special than winning it with anyone else because my heart is with Bangalore, my soul is with Bangalore. And as I said, this is the team I'm going to play for till the last day that I play the IPL," said Kohli.

Speaking about the match, Kohli top-scored for RCB with 43 and helped the team post a decent score of 190-9. The score wasn't massive, but the bowlers were right on the money and made PBKS work for every run, helping the team win by six runs.
