The 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) produced came to an end on Tuesday (June 3) with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final to end their 17-year drought and lift the title for the first time in history.
Three RCB players make our best XI, which is led by Shreyas Iyer, who was the star of the show for PBKS as they have reached the final after 11 years.
IPL 2025 Team Of The Tournament
Sai Sudharsan: The orange cap winner Sai Sudharsan, continued his incredible rise after impressing in 2023. The Gujarat Titans (GT). The 23-year-old star managed to outperform captain Shubman Gill by scoring 759 runs in 15 innings at an average of 54.21 with a strike-rate of 156.17 with one century and six half-centuries.
Virat Kohli: Virat Kohli made 600+ runs in a season for the third time this season by scoring 657 runs at an average of 59.72 with a strike-rate of 145.03. He made eight half-centuries with all of them coming in a winning cause.
Nicholas Pooran: Nicholas Pooran continued to prove why he is arguably the world's best T20 batter at the moment with another outstanding season. After being promoted to number three in IPL 2025, Pooran made 524 runs in 14 innings at an average of 43.55 with five half-centuries.. His strike-rate of 196.25 is the second-best by a player in IPL history, by a player who made more than 500 runs in a season.
Suryakumar Yadav: Suryakumar Yadav left no doubt on his status as one of the all-time great T20 batters in the world by winning the Most Valuable Player of The Tourmanet (MOTM) award. Suryakumar even managed to outperform his own lofty standards and had the best season of his career while setting the world record for the most 25+ scores in a row. The Mumbai Indians' vice-captain crossed the 25-run mark in all 15 matches. The 34-year-old ended with 717 runs (average of 65.18, strike-rate 167.71) in what is the first instance of a non-opener scoring more than 700 runs in a season in IPL history.
Shreyas Iyer (C): Shreyas Iyer failed to take PBKS over the line in the final but became the first captain to take three teams to a final. He led from the front with a stunning season as he made 604 runs in 17 matches at an average of 50.33 at a strike-rate of 175.05.
Jitesh Sharma (WK): Jitesh Sharma was among the best-performing designated wicket-keeper batters as well as lower-order batters. The RCB star finished his season with 261 runs in 15 innings at a strike-rate of 178.76. His knock of 85 in 33 did not just help RCB finish in the top two but also will go down among the best ever played in the IPL.
Shashank Singh: Shashank Singh was the top scorer in the 2025 IPL but the knock went in vain with a 30-ball 61. The PBKS star justified his Rs. 5.5 crore retention and was among the most consistent lower-order batters with 328 runs in 14 innings at an average of 46.85 at a strke-rate of 143.77.
Noor Ahmed: While Chennai Super Kings had a season to forget and finished 10th, Noor Ahmed finished as the second-highest wicket-taker with 24 wickets in his debut campaign for the franchise at an economy of 8.16.
Jasprit Bumrah: Jasprit Bumrah had another memorable season, where he was above the rest. Despite missing the first four games, Bumrah ended the season with 18 wickets in 12 matches at an economy of just 6.67.
Josh Hazlewood: Josh Hazlewood was the difference maker for RCB in the 2025 IPL and led the attack. The Australian legend took 22 wickets in 12 matches at an economy of 8.77 and finished as the third-highest wicket-taker in the tournament.
Prasidh Krishna: After missing the last two seasons due to injury, Prasidh justified Gujarat Titans' (GT) faith in him by winning the purple cap. After being purchased by Rs. 9.5 crore, the GT pacer took 25 wickets in 15 matches at an economy of 8.27
Sai Kishore (Impact Sub): After playing just 11 matches in five seasons, Sai Kishore finally made the most of becoming a regular starter. The left-arm spinner took 19 wickets in 15 matches.
