When Rajat Patidar-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru plays Shreyas Iyer's Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 final on Tuesday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Virat Kohli's nearly two-decade-long pursuit of an IPL championship with RCB reaches its most pivotal moment. However, there are slight chances of rain playing spoilsport as forecasts suggest a little drizzle in the evening. With a convincing victory over Punjab in Qualifier 1, RCB easily advanced to the final. But in Qualifier 2, Punjab Kings recovered with a resolute win over the Mumbai Indians, igniting a high-stakes match between two clubs still vying for their first IPL championship since the league's inception in 2008.

Is There A Reserve Day For IPL 2025 Final?

The game will not be threatened by a brief delay because there is up to 120 minutes of extra time available to finish the match. If rain cancels Tuesday's play, the final will be moved to Wednesday, June 4, the reserve day.
If conditions do not improve and no play can be done even on the reserve day, the team that finished higher in the league stage will be declared the IPL 2025 champions, which gives Punjab Kings the advantage. With nine wins from 14 games, the Shreyas Iyer-led team would be crowned champions if rain cancels both days.
The IPL 2025 final will feature a reserve day, the same as the previous seasons. It is interesting to note that the IPL 2023 final was held at the Narendra Modi Stadium on the reserve day. The Chennai Super Kings defeated the Gujarat Titans in that two-day match.
